I done a regular make; make install; make clean on the source files donwloaded from the official website but (and I feel like an idiot saying this) I can't find the executable created! I've scanned through the README file which only refers to another file which I can't find. There was no error messages during compilation neither. Any ideas?

Why don't you use the official package?
pacman -S xmame-sdl

I've seriously been searching through the pacman reposotories using pacman -Ss mame without success. Now, however, it finds it... Thanks for the help.

I've also been searching through the /usr/local/bin without succes. It was a 20-30 minutes compilation so maybie there were errors I didn't notice.
