I installed Plasma 5 and enable NetworkManager. It worked normally for many sessions.
Now, plasma-nm icon is a red computer and after click it, I see no wifi networks. I tried disabling then enabling wifi, but it responded slowly and didn't work.
It seems the problem started, after an upgrade.

Now, I'm able to see wifi connections. It may be because of systemd update, but I think I'm still vulnearable to be put in this situation again.

When plasma-nm doesn't work, it doesn't ask for password to open the wallet.
The problem returned.

open terminal and type:
#systemctl start NetworkManager
if it works, you can:
#systemctl enable NetworkManager
You can also try netctl(wifi-menu) instead of plasma-nm
first you need to install these package:
dialog
wpa_supplicant
wpa_actiond
then type this command with 'sudo' ;
# wifi-menu

I want to chime in as I'm having the same issue sporadically since July. It resolves itself after an hour or so and a reboot, and ethernet still works fine.

Try the old wifi-menu. I personally suggest using netctl as well, I've never had a problem with it. I know that wpa_supplicant is usually a dependancy for internet stuffs.
