[SOLVED] Multiple Xorg server on different terminals.

Hi folks!!

There is something that bugs me, is there any way to have i3 open with Xorg server on tty1 and other xorg server on tty2 with xfce4.
So when i switch system terminals i also switch between i3 and xfce4. Not necessary to do this on the same wheel user, for instance there can be two different users on those terminals.

Regards.

Re: [SOLVED] Multiple Xorg server on different terminals.

Have you tried running i3 on TTY1 and XFCE4 on TTY2?
Does it work?
If not, what command did you run, with what configuration files, and what was the output/behaviour?
Have you read http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html?

Re: [SOLVED] Multiple Xorg server on different terminals.

I ran i3 with "startx" command with "exec i3" in xinit, and then just tried to "startxfce4" on tty2. But got msg like "display 0 in use".
I'd appreciate some link to arch wiki, my duckduckgo didn't helped me a lot sad

Bold text in the big colored note box on the xinit page of the wiki:

xinit does not handle multiple sessions when already logged-in into a different virtual terminal. For that you must specify the session by appending -- :session_no. If X is already running, then you should start with :1 or more.

Okay, figured out. The solution was first start Xfce4 and then startx, that was way too easy... Thanks for all help.
