[Q] How to force Intel driver to use low dot clocks?

I frequently use my CRT TV to emulate at low resolutions, such as 256x240 and 256x224 using a VGA to SCART adapter I built, and a SCART to Component transcoder.

I have to use my ATi 4350 for this, as it is the only card I have that supports these low resolutions, but using the radeon driver, it is too slow to use RetroArch, and the Catalyst driver prevents me from using resolutions below 640x480. For this reason, I am forced to use Windows with CRT_Emudriver.

My Intel iGPU is fast enough to play these games, and it has the additional positive of being blobless, which is great because I use Parabola as my main OS.

My question is, how do I patch the Intel driver to use these low resolutions?
When I try to use them with xrandr, I get the error "xrandr: Configure crtc 0 failed", whereas I can display these resolutions just fine with the radeon driver using my 4350.

EDIT: I found this .diff from 2008. Obviously, it won't support modern cards, but maybe it can help: http://lists.x.org/archives/xorg/attach … chment.bin

What?  Is this a question about archlinux, or parabola?

I mentioned Parabola because it is my main OS, but this is a question about Arch. I triple boot Parabola, Arch, and Windows.

That was the first thing I tried. It works on my 4350, but not my iGPU.

I know this is off topic, but I am fascinated by this - why would you run both parabola and arch at the same time? Especially considering they're meant to be identical, aside from parabola's focus on the libre kernel and packages?

I use Arch for games that work on GNU/Linux or when I need to use my GPU which will only work with proprietary drivers.
Parabola is my general use OS. Browsing the web, movies, etc.
And Windows is for when games don't work on GNU/Linux.

If you haven't noticed, my CPU doesn't support VT-d for GPU Passthrough tongue
