[SOLVED] Arch starts tty1 and lightdm on tty7

When I boot I start in tty1, but just for a second. After that, LightDM starts and I am redirected to tty where the graphical login screen appears. This is annoying.
I am pretty sure to have read about this issue here before, but I just can't get my keywords right to find it. I use lightdm-gtk-greeter, but only modified graphical settings like background and font. Any hints?

I think this was a deliberate upstream decision. Does changing

#minimum-vt=7

  to

minimum-vt=1

in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf work?

Obvious hint: look at other settings. And since systemd is responsible for starting services, maybe dig into that a bit, so you have an idea what goes on at boot time.

As for reading about this before: for a while, LightDM started on tty1. There was no tty switching, but you could see some messages before LightDM loads (depending on how quiet you made your boot). Then people complained that things had changed and, whether it's because of those complaints or not, the default config moved LightDM back to tty7.

If you change minimum-vt in lightdm.conf and either disable getty@tty1.service or make lightdm.service conflict with this service, that is probably enough to go back to the other way of running LightDM.

Re: [SOLVED] Arch starts tty1 and lightdm on tty7

So changing minimum-vt alone was not enough but disabling getty did the trick. Interestingly I got a new warning at boot after these changes, but I will look deeper into that if it is related.

Edit: So I checked again today and there is no warning. So most likely unrelated and I mark this thread as solved.
