every time a http-request is issued the whole system freezes

what an unbelievable problem....

in years and years using arch i never stumbled upon anything like it.
Every time I issue any kind of http-request my whole system [ACER V5-573G Notebook] is freezing entirely - no tty, no killing X - just holding the power button.
It doesn't matter if I'll just open Chrome, use wget, issue a port scan with nmap... -> it's just crashing every time...
It does not even matter if I'm using LAN or WiFi.

To my surprise I can ssh into my machines with no problem whatsoever.

Until Yesterday everything was just fine. I ran pacman -Syu, rebooted and was online for at least an hour.

Live Disc runs just fine. Also followed the wiki to repair any broken packages.

What might that be? I'm seriously stuck here.

'journalctl --since=today' also not seems to have any idea - everything's just fine.

Any Help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

did you check what got updated from pacman.log? If there was a kernel update for example, try downgrading to previous version.

+1 My wifi stopped working after updated the kernel.
Downgrading ( install linux-lts ) solved the problem.
Give it a try.

just about everything was upgraded - including the kernel, several python packages and broadcom-wl-dkms.

unfortunately downgrading the kernel and broadcom-wl does not change anything sad

Are you really sure that the versions you downgraded to worked before?

Does it continue if you blacklist WiFi drivers (both Broadcom's and in-kernel one) and reboot?
