I am experiencing issues of delayed login and these usb error messages:
Oct 03 21:16:04 machine kernel: usb 2-4: device descriptor read/64, error -110
Oct 03 21:16:19 machine kernel: usb 2-4: device descriptor read/64, error -110
Oct 03 21:16:35 machine kernel: usb 2-4: device descriptor read/64, error -110
Oct 03 21:16:50 machine kernel: usb 2-4: device descriptor read/64, error -110
Oct 03 21:16:56 machine kernel: xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Command completion event does not match command
Oct 03 21:17:01 machine kernel: usb 2-4: device not accepting address 8, error -62
Oct 03 21:17:06 machine kernel: xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: Command completion event does not match command
Oct 03 21:17:12 machine kernel: usb 2-4: device not accepting address 10, error -62
Oct 03 21:17:12 machine kernel: usb usb2-port4: unable to enumerate USB device
I am guessing this is related to this previously opened threads, but that thread did not help. (And I do not have usbip, that enumerates USB, installed).
I read that these messages might be related to faulty hardware (these links might be related: here, here, and here), but I hope it is not the case since my laptop was bought recently.
I am using 4.1.6-1-ARCH on t450s with a pro dock. Any ideas what might be causing this?

I'm unsure about USB errors I've been getting lately. I was able to get some working again by opening the box and changing to another major hub on the motherboard. I think I may have caused a problem using a possible misfit USB hub. Maybe it needs to use external power instead USB hub power. But as of late, I had one just mysteriously burn out ? a couple of my onboard USB root hubs, and only one works now. I think that one of my devices was giving me trouble all of a sudden, but not sure. Seemingly easy to somehow mess up a USB root hub just by some device that goes awry. Starting to get worried about the real reliability of USB. But I was getting -74 or -72 (bad cable?). And kernel messages stating couldn't enumerate USB device.
I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...
Look ma, no mouse.
