Hi,
I got strange issue... when I start Dota 2 everything works fine, except of sound. I got no sound at all, sound sometimes crashes even from other sources (player, browser, etc.). The strange thing is I can't manage sound settings of Dota, when I click options tab and then sound tab, game stucks and stops to respond, then crashes. It happens imidiatelly after that "sound options click". Anyone got similar issue? Or any ideas how to solve it?
Thanks,
Majzlik

Hi,
If you've followed the advice at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/St … ime_issues Dota2 Reborn doesn't seem to like it and crashes quite easily (for me at least). You may have to undo those changes.
For system wide sound issues I can only suggest you have a good look around: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Category:Sound

I took a look there but didn't find anything really useful (I mean solving my problem). I'm using FiiO E17 as a DAC so I followed some guides how to let ALSA and PulseAudio use FiiO as a primary sound output. Now I got this sound crash issue just when I start Dota or Audacity. The most confusing is the possibility to play music from different sources (VLC) after Dota starts. So the timeline is:
system start (sound works fine)
steam start (still works fine)
Dota start (every sound stops - some programmes crash completely (DeadBeef, Audacity), some of them just didn't play sound (Palemoon - YouTube)
VLC (for example) start (sound from VLC works fine, Dota without sound for the whole time)
Dota quit (every sound stops again...)
I really don't know where to look for the origin of this issue... to Dota/Steam or rather to system (Pulse/ALSA)?
