Alright, that seems to work - no freeze in 30 minutes.

4.1.8 + nvidia 355.11 looks okay here too. About a hour without a freeze so far.

I have system freezes too with nvidia, only when running qbittorrent.

Perhaps you can try 4.1.10.

No luck, froze with qBittorrent.

If only qBittorent is causing it, I'd blame qBittorrent, not the other way around. Are you using Q4 version from repos, or Qt5 version from AUR?
Offline
Both have the same effect. Besides, others have reported the same issue without using qBittorrent. Though since Akuma mentioned KDE, I suppose it might have something to do with Qt - I myself use Xfce and qBittorrent is one of only few Qt programs I use regularly.

I have the same problem of system frezzes. They occur after about 5 minutes when i have transmission-gtk open. I'm running the linux-ck-haswell, and don't use any nvidia drivers.
The frezzes do not occur if I use the standard kernel.

I get sytem freezes as well, don't use qBittorrent and I don't think I had a qt application running when it happened.
No nvidia, Intel graphics here. Sandybridge.
No logs here either, however the freeze isn't sudden, parts stop working one by one.
Usually my wireless mouse stops working but the trackapd still works. I can start a terminal, but can't get a shell working. Can't switch to another tty either.
The system works great for several hours before this happens, but I can't think of anything specific that would trigger it.
Running 4.1.10 right now, it still crashes.

I recommend posting any instability observations not here but to ck's blog where he and others can review and comment: http://ck-hack.blogspot.com/

I'm also getting the same system freezes on custom compiled kernel with bfs and bfq, after I updated from 4.1.8 to 4.1.10. If I download a torrent with transmission my system freezes within minutes.
It's similar to the issue I had with bfs-463 where my system freezed during btrfs scrub, but I forgot to test if it would happen this time also.
I don't have nvidia graphics though, so I think it must be something else that happened on 4.1.9.

Con frequently points out that these are usually upstream bugs that can be brought to light on the bfs. Best advice I have to is post to his blog with your findings.

This seems to be the case as well: an upstream bug with an upstream fix. It should be included in the linux-ck repo builds, then.

Oh so this is a kernel problem? My system's been randomly freezing for the past few days and I haven't been able to pinpoint the culprit.
[CPU] AMD Ryzen 5 2400G
[iGPU] AMD RX Vega 11
[Kernel] linux-zen

@bucaneer - I can only patch it if I know about it thanks for the link. Can you or anyone else confirm that this patch in fact solves the problem?

Confirmed: no freeze in 30 minutes of using patched 4.1.10-1-ck (with qBittorrent running).

Thank you; 4.1.10-3 is online in the AUR and building for [repo-ck] now.
EDIT: You or someone should probably open a ticket against linux-lts with this patch and a description of the problem.

I get multiple error messages
error: could not open file /var/lib/pacman/sync/repo-ck.db: Unrecognized archive format
everytime when I try to update my system.
I have already tried pacman -Syy.
Any hints to solve this problem?

The problem should be obvious.

That was an too easy one ;-)
I hope the site will come back soon.

Welp. I just updated my mirrorlist to use https only, then synced. Got these errors. Thought I fucked up but it was the host.

Using kalu, all of the packages in repo-ck are not in repos or AUR. Don't know why it's saying that.

Report it in the kalu thread?

Apparently it was able to update repo db and be happy now. So I guess it was temporary. Sometimes the not in AUR part is helpful.
