[SOLVED] Starcraft 2 not starting

Hi all

yesterday after patching Starcraft 2 doesnt start anymore from the Battle.net application. When launching from the console i get

If I start SC2 with
wine /home/bogdan/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/StarCraft II/Support SC2Switcher.exe the game starts but the sound is distorted.

Any hints?

Hi

system config i7 4770, 16GB RAM, ati radeon 260X with opensource drivers and mesa up to date, alsa audio.

Hello,
I have the same issue, with the same WINED3DFORMAT error log. The game was working fine before Blizzard update (patch 3.0.0).

My system is i5, the graphic card is NVIDEA GTX 750 TI. I am using the NVIDEA driver.

I think the update ruined the setup. My SC2 was  also ok before this patch

But even with a new install, the issue remains.

Battle.net launcher tends to break and has to be fixed in subsequent wine releases nothing new here

It may be at blizzard's end which caused this but - it may not be... Have you changed anything recently in either winetricks/winecfg and is it the vanilla wine or wine-staging you are using? I use wine-staging, I have got a copy of Starcraft 2 but haven't tried it as of yet maybe I could install it and find the cause of the problem....

I'm using vanilla  wine. I didnt change anything (actually the game used to run pretty well on my system) , the game just updated when I started the pc. I let the game finish it's update but it didnt start anymore. Please let me know if I can provide more logs/do more tests.

I think the 3.0 patch added 64-bit support to the client. Try Options -> Game Settings -> And tick "Launch 32-bit client".

The config suggest from bushwakko solved the issue for Wings of Liberty and multipleyer. But it fails trying the prologue of Legacy of Void.
