GVFS Updates from today (10/13/2015) breaks network shares

I can't mount any network shares via GVFS.  Google Drive and Owncloud also are not working.

Re: GVFS Updates from today (10/13/2015) breaks network shares

When I click on a share, I get the message "Volume doesn't implement mount."

Forgot that little detail

Re: GVFS Updates from today (10/13/2015) breaks network shares

+1.

I upgraded to Gnome 3.18 today, but wasn't able to mount my Google Drive volume after enabling 'files' in the g-o-a GUI. After reading some posts on the forum, I additionally installed gvfs-goa and gvfs-google and even gnome-extra, but to no avail.

/EDIT: I was able to connect to a remote NFS-share over sftp - but I cannot confirm if this was before or after installing the extra packages (gvfs-* and gnome-extra)

Re: GVFS Updates from today (10/13/2015) breaks network shares

+1.

When clicking my google drive location in Files I also get the "Volume doesn't implement mount" message, I have no other network enable to test.
Worked before yesterdays gvfs upgrades, i.e. extra/gvfs 1.26.1-3 (gnome) & extra/gvfs-goa 1.26.1-3 (gnome) & extra/gvfs-google 1.26.1-3 (gnome), switched to arch a couple of days ago from another distro directly to gnome 3.18.

Here is the relevant info from journalctl -b at the time I am trying to access google drive:

Oct 14 11:33:27 mypc dbus-daemon[1314]: Activating service name='org.gnome.Nautilus'
Oct 14 11:33:27 mypc dbus-daemon[1314]: Successfully activated service 'org.gnome.Nautilus'

I have problems accessing shared folders with samba. Can browse smb:// in thunar, can copy the files to and from, but I cannot open e.g. text file directly with mousepad. This worked before. The problem is - gvfs no longer mounts the shared directory under /run/user/[uid]/gvfs , as it used to.

E.g. ristretto works fine (somehow, it can access smb://foo/bar directly). But mousepad does not work (shows empty file), since it relies on the dir being mounted.

(upon searching the web, I tried adding "fuse" group and adding myself to it. It did not help. The mounting worked before even without this)

edit: the same problem happens with MTP (files on phone). Worked before, does not work now.

Same problems as @renergy, I downgraded gvfs 1.26.1.3 to gvfs 1.26.0.3, which fixed the problems.

Re: GVFS Updates from today (10/13/2015) breaks network shares

So, I installed the latest "gvfs 1.26.1.1-1" and still can't browse my local network sad
Anyone else tried these latest packages with success?
TIA

This is a fairly big bug. Wondering what's the hold up on the fix.

Re: GVFS Updates from today (10/13/2015) breaks network shares

Well, partially fixed.  Owncloud and Google Drive still say "Volume does not implement mount."  But Samba and NFS shared work great.

What version of gvfs are you on? My system (xfce) is up to date and the problem persists

1.26.1.1-1

I can now mount SMB and NFS shares, but Owncloud and Google still don't work.

Well, I can mount them manually, however the file manager (neither thunar nor caja) can't...

I'm mounting in Nautilus without issue.

Re: GVFS Updates from today (10/13/2015) breaks network shares

I'm currently unable to play any video using VLC over a SMB share mounted via Nautilus on Gnome 3.18, so the bug is certainly still affecting some users and is significant...

Re: GVFS Updates from today (10/13/2015) breaks network shares

I'm trying to access a remote file using sftp://[...] in Thunar. I can copy the files to and from the remote folder.
But because gvfs no longer mounts the shared directory under /run/user/[uid]/gvfs I cannot access the files(video files) using VLC, for example.
I'm using gvfs 1.26.1.1-1

Mounting manually using Sshfs  works like a charm!

Re: GVFS Updates from today (10/13/2015) breaks network shares

I'm wondering why thead is marked as solved; knowing that it's not.

AFAIK, shares are mounted but gvfsd-fuse doesn't export them to VFS, making usage of non-gvfs compatible softwares not work.

It also confused me. I was searching for the solution in this thread and didn't find one!

Re: GVFS Updates from today (10/13/2015) breaks network shares

I can view the SMB mount in thunar directly, but the directory /run/user/UID/gvfs/ is empty. Very strange. Downgraded to last working build.
