First second of sound missing in Firefox

I have this problem with Duolingo and Lingq, which are language learning websites.

In Duolingo, I often have to write the sentence after hearing its audio, but the first second of audio is often missing in Firefox, so I miss a word or two. I don't have this problem in Chromium.

I don't have any problem with Youtube videos.

Re: First second of sound missing in Firefox

I have also noticed this problem occur recently. I have tried the tsched trick but it doesn't work. It is like Pulse is trying to route the sound to the right place but it takes a second to work, by which time the sound is almost finished.

Re: First second of sound missing in Firefox

Why would you associate this with pulseaudio?  chromium apparently works so it's firefox which seems to have a delay
