Hi,
Yesterday I bought a new printer, a canon mg6650 but I can't get it to work.
lpinfo -v
network ipps
file cups-pdf:/
network lpd
network http
network https
network ipp
network socket
direct hp
network smb
direct usb://Canon/MG6600%20series?serial=01D615&interface=1
direct hpfax
direct cnijbe2://Canon/?port=usb&serial=01D615
dmesg |grep Canon
[ 7929.594441] scsi 11:0:0:0: Direct-Access Canon MG6600 series 0301 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2
[ 8814.445928] scsi 12:0:0:0: Direct-Access Canon MG6600 series 0301 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2
[121067.673849] scsi 13:0:0:0: Direct-Access Canon MG6600 series 0301 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2
I've installed:
aur/cnijfilter2-mg7500 5.00-1 [installed] (2)
Canon InkJet Printer Driver (MG7500, MG6600, MG5600, MG2900, MB5300, MB5000, MB2300, MB2000, IP110, IB4000, E460 Series)
But when I list the drivers: lpinfo -m, I get null.
I also tried to install trough the cups web interface, but I'm getting this error: Unable to get list of printer drivers:
Am I forgetting to do something after installing aur/cnijfilter2-mg7500 5.00-1 ?

Do you have any foomatic packages installed ?
check item 6.6 on cups/troubleshooting page in wiki.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

I've changed client.conf to localhost:631, but I'm getting the same error.
Do I need foomatic? I've installed foomatic-db, foomatic-db-engine and foomatic-db-nonfree

The "Unable to get list of printer drivers:" is caused by foomatic-db-engine .
If none of your printers are supported by foomatic, you can remove the foomatic packages completely.
If some printers do require foomatic (like many HP printers), you can use pacman -Rdd to remove foomatic-db-engine temporarily .

Thanks, removing foomatic solved the problem.
Thanks for helping.
