Re: Shadowhand's Repo Information

Dependency problem of xfce-session with dbus from testing - a version problem with libdbus.
I guess you are not using testing.
Cheers.

If you use testing, some xfce-svn packages will not work (notably thunar & xfdesktop). I built those packages against testing, and created a small "overlay" repo, complementary to shadowhand.
To get these packages, put this over shadowhand's, and update as usual:

Re: Shadowhand's Repo Information

Sigi, thank you for your note.
I think that this is the problem. I wasn't aware of it sad

blaze, I don't understand, because dbus from testing only creates symlinks to
   /usr/lib/libdbus-1.so.2
but ldd `which xfdesktop` returns
   libdbus-glib-1.so.1 => not found
   libdbus-1.so.1 => not found
Are you sure you are using the dbus from testing?

Cheers

Re: Shadowhand's Repo Information

ldd `which xfdesktop` gives me
libdbus-glib-1.so.2 => /usr/lib/libdbus-glib-1.so.2 (0xb7639000)
libdbus-1.so.2 => /usr/lib/libdbus-1.so.2 (0xb7609000)

i used the packages from stavrosg but todays packages from shadowhand replaced them.
dbus is definately from testing, yes. i had problems with testing dbus and shadowhands xfce packages aswell, so i switched to stavrosg's repo. but as i said, shadowhands repo has been updated this morning and it works fine now.

pacman -Qi dbus
Name           : dbus
Version        : 0.61-2

Re: Shadowhand's Repo Information

NOTE: to use xfce4-svn with the Testing repo, you will need to use Stavrosg's Testing builds, located here: http://arch.os-zen.net/pkg/stavrosg/

It's right on the first page.

Re: Shadowhand's Repo Information

I have updated my xgl-abs-overlay. PKGBUILDs are now synchronized with your repo and there are really huge updates. Please look at this new topic:
Latest Xgl and Compiz PKGBUILDs

And btw. thanks for maintaining prebuilt binary packages ;-)

Re: Shadowhand's Repo Information

Hello,
I have updated my xgl & compiz PKGBUILDs.

Here is changelog:

· Added libwnck-compiz PKGBUILD (latest stable libwnck version with patches from David Reveman). This should add an opacity sub-menu to the window action menu (but I don't see it, why?) and makes it possible to move windows using the pager (this works great for me).
· Added --enable-gconf-dump option to compiz-cvs and compiz-quinn-cvs
· Removed mesa-tfp-update-1.patch from mesa-xgl-cvs and xgl-cvs (commited to mesa cvs head)
· Upstream bugs in compiz-quinn-cvs (buggy GNOME workspace switcher applet, badly working show desktop button) are now fixed.

You can find more info as usual here...

Re: Shadowhand's Repo Information

Repo updated.

= Fixed up all xfce4-svn stuff
= Renamed the "xfce4-svn-plugins" package to "xfce4-pluginpack-svn"
+ Added a new group "xfce4-svn-plugins"

To view the plugins available for xfce4-svn, use this:

pacman -Sg xfce4-svn-plugins

This release was a big rough, entirely my fault. If you have any issues, run this:

pacman -Scc && pacman -Sy xfce4-svn xfce4-svn-extra

Re: Shadowhand's Repo Information

Since the last pacman -Syu today, whenever I launch xfce4-svn from gdm, the session terminates almost immediately.

Logging into IceWM and launching xfce4-session gives the following error:

$ xfce4-session

xfce4-session: error while loading shared libraries: libxfce4util.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

$ pacman -Ql libxfce4util-svn | grep /opt/xfce4/lib

libxfce4util-svn /opt/xfce4/lib/libxfce4util.a
libxfce4util-svn /opt/xfce4/lib/libxfce4util.so
libxfce4util-svn /opt/xfce4/lib/libxfce4util.so.4
libxfce4util-svn /opt/xfce4/lib/libxfce4util.so.4.0.0
libxfce4util-svn /opt/xfce4/lib/pkgconfig/
libxfce4util-svn /opt/xfce4/lib/pkgconfig/libxfce4util-1.0.pc

$ ldd `which xfce4-session` | grep "not found"

        libxfce4util.so.2 => not found

Re: Shadowhand's Repo Information

I had that problem too, and clearing pacman's cache (<code>pacman -Scc</code>) and re-installing Shadowhand's packages (as he mentioned above) seemed to fix it.  Although I don't think Xfce's Terminal is working quite right now...

--==EDIT==--
With a little more exploration, it looks like Terminal is failing due to that same file error...so there's still something not quite right.

Re: Shadowhand's Repo Information

There are still a couple of packages that aren't using the new xfce4util, but most of them are fixed. All the required stuff is working (including Terminal).
