Launching Chromium crashes xorg when using xinerama (multi-monitor)

I recently moved from Mint to Arch and I've been able to figure everything out up until now.

Originally I had a single gtx 560 running two monitors. Things were working fine with i3 but they weren't oriented the way I wanted (stacked as opposed to left to right).
I added a gtx 720 that I had lying around to run a third monitor that I rotated and put on the left side of the other two.
I recently discovered the nvidia-settings tool and set my xscreens up the way I wanted. When I run i3 though, two of my screens are blank and have an 'X' for a cursor. I selected 'Use Xinerama' in nvidia-settings and everything looked good except now whenever I start chromium from the i3 dmenu, xorg crashes.

It looks like it has to do with the hardware acceleration that Chrome/Chromium uses but I'm not sure how to disable it.
