[SOLVED]WiFi disconnects randomly with NetworkManager or netctl

Hi all, I've tried to build a stable wifi for my new desktop with a portable usb wlan stick.

I've tried to connect with netctl and wifi-menu, and some time later, I can no longer access the Internet any more. When I reconnect it with wifi-menu, the error message shows:

Job for netctl@xx.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status netctl@xx.serviice" and "journalctl -xe" for details

I tried with NetworkManager in kde5 and it happens exactly the same. It disconnects randomly. When I tried to reconnect it, it always failed. I had to plug out and in again my usb wlan stick to do a workaround.

In dmesg, there are logs like:

[ 7735.566321] wlp0s20u3: authenticate with ec:17:2f:5c:8d:c6
[ 7735.587935] wlp0s20u3: direct probe to ec:17:2f:5c:8d:c6 (try 1/3)
[ 7735.789504] wlp0s20u3: direct probe to ec:17:2f:5c:8d:c6 (try 2/3)
[ 7735.992925] wlp0s20u3: direct probe to ec:17:2f:5c:8d:c6 (try 3/3)
[ 7736.196341] wlp0s20u3: authentication with ec:17:2f:5c:8d:c6 timed out

Referring to other posts, I checked my daemon and there are no conflict services like netctl or wicd running at the same time.

At last, I tried wicd as well, but it seems that wicd-kde is no longer available, while wicd-curses crashes during I configure my wifi password. So it fails...

Any ideas about it? Thanks!

What was the output of the suggested commands?

Please also post the output of:

systemctl list-unit-files|grep enabled
lsusb

(With the device plugged in)

Thanks for your reply.

I think I got this problem solved after installing the wireless driver from AUR https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php? … _Search=Go

in lsusb, I got the usb wlan stick info is :

Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0bda:8176 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188CUS 802.11n WLAN Adapter

And the AUR driver is far better than the default one (the previous I used which I did not install by myself), with a better signal strength (90% vs 55%) and, most importantly, more stable.

Hope this helps some other guys who use the same wifi adapter with me.
