A stop job is running and I have no clue where it comes from

Hi there,

I get random problems with a stop job running when I try to shut down or reboot my arch machine. Looking at the journal, I first thought it was lightdm's fault ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/lightdm/+bug/1502909 ) but the problem persists even now (I have replaced lightdm by sddm).

So now I'm trying to figure out why my system won't shut down correctly. This is a journalctl extract from when it didn't work:

As you can observe, shutdown proceeds normally until 13:22:09. Then nothing happens. At 13:22:25 I start hitting Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Every time, the sound card message pops up. Finally, I press Ctrl+Alt+Delete with a faster pace to force a reboot of the system and type this.

The stop job is labelled with "session c2". Google wasn't able to help me with that. I have no clue what program actually keeps my system from shutting down. Newest updates are installed. The problem has existed for about 1-2 weeks now.

Any ideas what to do next?

Cheers,
Kalsan

Re: A stop job is running and I have no clue where it comes from

$ loginctl
   SESSION        UID USER             SEAT
        c1       1000 karol            seat0
        c2       1000 karol            seat0

'c2' is the session I started on tty2.

Not a Sysadmin issue, moving to NC...

Re: A stop job is running and I have no clue where it comes from

@jasonwryan: Thx and sorry for wrong post
@karol: I get the following:

$ loginctl
   SESSION        UID USER             SEAT
        c2       1000 user           seat0

1 sessions listed.

For some reason, my desktop manager runs on session 2, don't know why since it shows up on tty1.
Anyway, if I understand this right, all this is telling me is that something on my graphical interface hangs, right?
Cheers,

Same problem here, same loginctl output.
