Changing GRUB and TTY Resolution

Hello, I wasn't sure where to put this so here seemed well enough I guess. I've searched around for a way to do this but have not found anything either concrete or straightforward. I've tried this GRUB/Tips and tricks and Uvesafb to no avail, nothing new ever happens upon reboot. I want GRUB and my TTY to display in a resolution that makes sense, preferably my monitor's native 2560x1440-32 instead of the current displaying of 800x600. Is there a preferred way of doing this or is what I tried pretty much it? And if those methods should have worked I would like help getting them to work. Any suggestions appreciated, and as usual ask away for any addition info you may need from me.

Try loading KMS as early as possible in the boot process:

This should sort your TTY, not sure about GRUB though.

Re: Changing GRUB and TTY Resolution

Ah, unfortunately I am using the proprietary NVIDIA drivers, forgot to mention that, and don't have any particular desire to switch over to nouveau. Also I believe that that would only change my tty but not GRUB. Thanks though.
