Impossible to conrol keyboard LEDs

3 days ago I have updated the system and found out that it is not possible to switch on/off keyboard LEDs via command line.

xset led named "Caps Lock"

produces no effect.

setleds +caps

results in:

etleds: Error reading current flags setting. Maybe you are not on the console?: ioctl KDGKBLED: Inappropriate ioctl for device

I can turn on/off these LEDs via pressing corresponding keys on keynoard. After previous system update that i did in september everything worked fine

Is it possible to fix that somehow?

Linux kernel: 4.2.3-1-ARCH (x86_64)
WM: FVWM

Re: Impossible to conrol keyboard LEDs

setleds gives that message when run from an xterminal , but appears to work from a real tty console .

xset also does nothing on my system from an xterm..

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
