No sound in new version of Spotify with ALSA [SOLVED]

Hi,
In the new version of Spotify I have no sound under ALSA. It is not stated anywhere, though, that PulseAudio is required.
Just for a test, I tried running it with apulse (https://github.com/i-rinat/apulse) and I am getting sound, albeit rather bad and choppy sound.
I tried both the 32bit and 64bit version of apulse. 32bit does not work with Spotify.
I am not 100% sure yet that Spotify does not work because I don't have PulseAudio,  but that seems to be the case.
Anyone else is experiencing this with Spotify?
Suggestions?

I experience this too. The comments on the spotify AUR package mention this issue, stating that it seems that PulseAudio is required since version 1.0>... I'm not to sure about that requirement, because I recently had another setup of Arch (which I broke with rm -r * in system folders.. Dont do that) on which Spotify 1.0 or greater was installed but PulseAudio wasn't installed and yet Spotify worked on that setup. At least I think PulseAudio wasn't installed.

In any case, I'd like to know if anyone managed to fix this issue without installing PulseAudio. As OP says it apulse does produce sound but it plays music way to fast and gives bad quality.

No sound at all unless i use apulse, but then the sound is really bad.

EDIT: Well, after installing pulseaudio it works just fine, so that's it. I'm not sure why apulse doesn't work properly, though.

Neither the AUR package or the wiki state that Spotify requires PulseAudio so probably they need to be amended.
I use apulse  for skype but as it is essentially a hack for skype(by the admission of the developer) it can't be expected to work with everything. It would be great if it was working with spotify though.
So there are three bad options left: install PulseAudio, use Spotify web player, or use Spotify through wine.

This has been fixed with the latest spotify version (available in AUR). Now sound works fine with ALSA
