Can't use tahoma font

I have installed  infinality-bundle to refine font rendering but now I can't use tahoma font. neither my system nor Firefox can read it although it's installed . tahoma font is replaced by DejaVuSansCondensed which is ugly with Arabic webpages . can anyone tell me what is wrong an walk me through my font settings to solve my problem ?

Re: Can't use tahoma font

Make sure your fonts are in

 ~/.fonts

make sure that you have them unziped in otf format.

1- Yes I did that .. some of my fonts are in ~/.fonts but I think butting them in usr/share/fonts will do the same !
2 - Tahoma font is TTF ( true type format ) how to but it in OTF ?!!

Re: Can't use tahoma font

TTF files should work just fine too.

Re: Can't use tahoma font

Either restart or use this command

#fc-cache -fv

, if you're sure you put that font in the right place.

Re: Can't use tahoma font

Please use code tags when pasting output.

Do the following commands

$ fc-list | grep -i tahoma
$ fc-match tahoma

show your font?
Have you checked the files in /etc/fonts/conf.d are not forcing the override?

Re: Can't use tahoma font

here is the output for first command :

/usr/share/fonts/truetype/tahoma.ttf: Tahoma:style=Regular,Normal,obyčejné,Standard,Κανονικά,Normaali,Normál,Normale,Standaard,Normalny,Обычный,Normálne,Navadno,thường,Arrunta
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/tahomabd.ttf: Tahoma:style=Bold,Negreta,tučné,fed,Fett,Έντονα,Negrita,Lihavoitu,Gras,Félkövér,Grassetto,Vet,Halvfet,Pogrubiony,Negrito,Полужирный,Fet,Kalın,Krepko,đậm,Lodia
/usr/share/fonts/TTF/tahomabd.ttf: Tahoma:style=Bold,Félkövér
/usr/share/fonts/TTF/tahoma.ttf: Tahoma:style=Regular,Normál
/home/mushir/.local/share/fonts/tahomabd.ttf: Tahoma:style=Bold,Negreta,tučné,fed,Fett,Έντονα,Negrita,Lihavoitu,Gras,Félkövér,Grassetto,Vet,Halvfet,Pogrubiony,Negrito,Полужирный,Fet,Kalın,Krepko,đậm,Lodia
/home/mushir/.local/share/fonts/tahoma.ttf: Tahoma:style=Regular,Normal,obyčejné,Standard,Κανονικά,Normaali,Normál,Normale,Standaard,Normalny,Обычный,Normálne,Navadno,thường,Arrunta

and here is the output for the second :

LiberationSans-Regular.ttf: "Liberation Sans" "Regular"

I'm not sure what do you mean by asking "Have you checked the files in /etc/fonts/conf.d are not forcing the override?"

Re: Can't use tahoma font

As I said before, please use code tags when pasting output - it's hard to read otherwise.

Regarding my override question, I suggest you read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Font_configuration
