can i have a small border around tty text area?

using the console, the line and first letter starts flush with the top/leftmost pixel of the monitor, which is a little disturbing to the eye.
is it possible to put some small margin/border/padding around it?
i could not find any information in the manpages for setterm, set, tput or terminfo (the latter mentions both padding and marging, but afaics it means something different).

another idea was to tell it to the nvidia module...

i'm not even sure how to formulate my searches.

Re: can i have a small border around tty text area?

Are you using any particular application or just the shell?
My monitor has a matte screen in a black case, so I have several millimeters of margin around the tty :-)

you mean like screen or tmux?
no, just the bare console.

i was thinking about a software solution.

it seems that setting up the linux console (i mean the non-X tty) has become a(n almost) lost art...
maybe some slightly more general pointers on human readable documentation?
