This is my first post here so HI to everybody ![]()
Now on the problem...
My hardware is a Laptop HP Pavilion : "Intel i5/4200U - 4GB/RAM DDR3L - DUAL Graphics: AMD Radeon HD8670M/1GB DDR3 Dedicated and INTEL" and i am running the last Arch Linux Kernel with Gnome 3.18 / GDM on top.
Giving the command
lspciat the terminal it returns those results:
- 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
- 0a:00.0 Display controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Sun XT [Radeon HD 8670A/8670M/8690M / R5 M330] (rev ff)Right now the laptop works with the intel Graphics card with some flickering/tearing effects when i move windows on screen or at the scrolling when i use firefox for example. I found that when i change the resolution of the screen and then reverting to current resolution it works fine but when i am logging out and then login in again the problem is there again. And is very annoying every time i login on the system to have first to change monitor resolution.
So i tried to install drivers for AMD-Catalyst from AUR but again no luck there
I tried almost everything incuding the catalyst-test drivers but after 4 days i gave up. !!!!!
When i try to install AMD catalyst drivers from AUR i am finishing always with no drivers installed !!! and i have to wait almost 20-30 minutes untill the process complete !!
Also at the Boot proccess Kernel gives this error message :
Error: radeon 0000:00: VCE init error (-22).
As i am new player on Linux world i really need some help here so i can make AMD GPU work with Arch
Thanks in Advance
