Digital audio output

My aplay -l command shows the following device:

card 0: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 1: ALC888-VD Digital [ALC888-VD Digital]

But it's doesn't show up in my sound mixer, or in KDE settings audio output devices. Nor am I getting any sound out of it. I need to get this working if possible; any help?
