Re: Need to regenerate mkinitcpio file

On your system, is there anything under /var/lib/pacman/local/?

I find it very odd that your only kernel is not an Arch kernel and pacman can't find it's database (which is what's causing those conflicting file errors). It's as though you've half installed something else over the top of your Arch installation.

See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pa … 9.22_error for advice on how to handle the conflicts, but if your pacman database is gone, you'd probably be better off reinstalling the entire OS from scratch.

Re: Need to regenerate mkinitcpio file

You should have a load of directories in there (one for each package), and each directory should have three or more files. If you are missing this, then as I said, reinstalling your system is the best thing to do. The other options are detailed here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pa … l_database

Re: Need to regenerate mkinitcpio file

Re-installing the system on a blank drive and then copying over only the boot directory files to a backup of my old system fixed it.
