Hi all,
I have a weird problem with my brightness control. Contrary to what appears to be the issue for almost every other problem report I found, my brightness control keys do work perfectly fine. However, it's not really in sync with what the KDE power management GUI reports. When I press the buttons, the on-screen indicator pops up and the bar is moving in the appropriate direction, but the scale is incorrect. What this means is that if I start from 0, I'm at maximum brightness when the progress bar is about 50% filled, and vice versa when starting at 100. Also, the slider in the battery and power management applet do nothing that can be visually appreciated. However, changing this GUI slider does alter the output of both xbacklight and cat /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness, there is just no actual change in screen brightness. The shortcuts do alter these values too, but including a change in brightness.
So my question is: How do I get the GUI sliders to behave as expected?
Thanks in advance!
