[SOLVED]Screen shuts off while starting Arch from USB for installation

I have a EeeBox PC EB1030 with an atom processor running ubuntu... I wanted to install Arch but when I boot from the USB while loading the kernel the screen turns off and I am forced to just turn off from power button.

The screen does not go black... it goes into power save mode and claims that no signal is coming from the pc.

I tried using nomodeset in the kernel boot parameters but it did not work... Any ideas?

My lspci

Re: [SOLVED]Screen shuts off while starting Arch from USB for installation

If you have a second computer, try this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Install_from_SSH

After you have booted the installer, you should be logged in as root. If you have a wired ethernet connection, you could type dhcpcd in TTY1 and then switch to TTY2 (just in case dhcpcd decides to hog the TTY). When the wiki article ask you to modify a file, use cat "bla" >> filepath. Look up the IP of your device in your router or scan the network with nmap (or zenmap, if you need a GUI). That's a total of four commands you need to type blind: dhcpcd, passwd+newpass+enter+newpass+enter, cat for ssh config and start the sshd service.

You could also try to use the vga= or video= kernel parameter and set a really low mode manually, like 640x480.

Yeah setting

video=VGA-1:1024@768@60

worked...

Thanks I was looking for that parameter!

I still think a blind install would have been fun.
