Powertop calibration

I have an Asus ZenBook UX305 and I've left powertop's calibration running for about 3 hours now. The screen has only turned on and off once in that time after the first 30 seconds or so. I can't tell if it's still taking data or not. Is this normal? I can't get any response from the system even after tapping a few keys.

Three hours is way too long, finished in less than 10 minutes here.
