Unable to download core.db.sig, extra.db.sig and community.db.sig

When I try to upgrade arch linux, pacman tries to download core.db.sig, extra.db.sig and community.db.sig, but fails to do so (error below). The upgrade completes successfully, but I'm curious what the error is and if it is indication of any problem..

Re: Unable to download core.db.sig, extra.db.sig and community.db.sig

That's normal because database are not signed, see https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/45657.

However pacman should not comply about this unless you changed something in your pacman.conf... by any chance you set a custom XferCommand?

solariiknight, please use code tags when posting file contents or program outputs, [⁣code]like this[/⁣code].

As I thought, you are using a custom XferCommand: as I said database files are not signed so pacman will ignore any error if it fails to download those signatures but an external downloader like wget won't: see this post for a detailed explanation https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 9#p1577909.
