Im trying to install playonlinux and I managed to get all the dependencies down except for wine the package in the repository is flagged out of date .. I downloaded it anyways but there is no PKGBUILD in it .. so how can i get wine?

Im still kinda new to linux but for the first time I managed to install arch and fix all my drives and would just like to get a few games to make this my main os

Re: [Solved] problem installing wine!?

Although the package may be flagged out-of-date you can still install it.

What do you mean about there being no PKGBUILD?  Do you mean you downloaded it through ABS and the file is missing?

What is the actual problem?

Please also use a descriptive title.

Re: [Solved] problem installing wine!?

don't worry if it's flagged out-of-date, that just means there's newer version available from upstream.  it will be updated eventually.

Also, I'm not sure how you're installing your packages, but both playonlinux and wine are available from official arch repositories. If you install playonlinux using pacman, all of it's dependencies should get installed automatically, as well as every package can be easily updated when there's new version available.

Just remember to update your system regularily and you'll be fine

Really.  Do so.  Now.  Click edit on your first post, and fix the title.

Is there a reason you are trying to build wine yourself?  It's in the repos.

Re: [Solved] problem installing wine!?

I thought playonlinux has the ability to download whichever wine version you want for each "bottle" of wine prefix?
