wifi-menu works perfectly (only tested with one router) unless I have a saved profile. When I do have a saved profile for the router, it doesn't ask for my WPA key and results in a WPA authentication error. Deleting the profile from /etc/netctl and reconnecting with wifi-menu works. Why is this? Is there something I can do to avoid this?

Once you have a profile saved you don't need to use wifi-menu, just start/enable it with netctl. See: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Netctl
