Glitchy GRUB bootup screen

Hi there,

I recently reinstalled Arch after a few years of using going from one distro to the other.
I must say I'm very happy, and I feel quite confortable with it.
Only problem I'm having at themoment is with GRUB, which since the first time it was installed, shows up like this:

I know which entry is which, but I'd rather actually see them. It looks like a wrong resolution/alignment problem.

Any chances someone can help me?

Thanks a lot,
Fernando

What video card and driver are you using?

Not a Sysadmin issue, moving to NC...

Re: Glitchy GRUB bootup screen

The laptop is a T61 thinkpad. lspci tells me

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (primary) (rev 0c)
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (secondary) (rev 0c)

I never had this problem on this laptop with GRUB from ubuntu and from debian before.
As for drivers xf86-video-intel, although this is before the operating system starts up.

EDIT: added driver info
