Krita-Git (illegal instruction: core dumped)

I am trying to install and run the development version of Krita and am unsuccessful. It installs from the AUR just fine (if slow) but trying to run it produces the error:

Illegal instruction (core dumped)

The other instance of Krita (from the AUR) is uninstalled before I install and try to run this one. The development version presumably has the new beta animation tools, which is why I want it over the stable 2.9.9.2 package.

I've been trying to install it every few days or so to no avail. I did some searching but I am frankly not a debugger so I wouldn't know what to do with a code dump.

If anyone can point me in the right direction here I'd really appreciate it. I am not sure how to go about this problem. I've only been using Arch for about a month now and while most things run smoothly, this has been kinda irritating.
