Hi everyone I would like to know why I can't connect to most of CSGO servers. I read something about iptables and port forwarding/or opening I already tried to mess around with iptables and it didn't seem to help at all... But there is something strange...I can connect to a few servers and play sometimes but not every server like on Windows....Help?

Hi there, I had the same issue. After launching CS:GO from steam I immediately got a connection failure. In my case, the problem was caused by an incorrect symbolic link in the .steam folder. There .steam/root points to itself which causes a loop. I simply removed the link an reestablished it. It should point to .local/share/Steam/ . So I did the following
cd .steam
rm root
ln -s /home/user/.local/share/Steam/ rootObvisouly steam somehow resets the link everytime it starts, hence I first started steam and the fixed the link. This way I managed to get CS:GO working again. I still hope this issue gets resolved by an update.
Hope this helps and good luck ![]()
