Hi,
I'm having trouble with the nouveau driver on a Nvidia GTX 970.
I successfully switched from nvidia drivers to it, but then the screen plugged with a HDMI cable is blurry. I cannot exchange cables (the other screen, older, has a vga cable + dvi adapter).
When I look at the information given by my screen, it says "1922x1080" pixels instead of 1920x1080. xrandr shows that I'm using 1920 however. Moreover I can see a small space on the left not used by my screen (probably 2 pixels wide).
I switched because with the nvidia driver I had serious issues while reading HD videos, but on the nouveau driver it works perfectly.
However my eyes are hurting now, and I prefer nvidia drivers even if that means no HD.
PS: my first issue was that I could not read HD videos at all with nvidia (here it is), even with hardware acceleration, hence the nouveau driver. I would be happy if someone could help me for one of these 2 issues.
Could someone help me ?
Thanks

First thing I would try is to use the buttons on your monitor and look around in its menus for an "auto adjust" or similar function. Make sure the screen has a graphic of any kind that covers the entire panel, not just a black screen, as the auto adjust looks for color. Post back with the results, if any, of that.

Thank you for your answer. The screen does have an auto adjust button, but it doesn't work on HDMI (unavailable).
