What is the difference between staging and testing [solved]

This wiki shows the staging repository was used a while ago but I found we are still putting packages in there so I want to learn about it and how it is different from the testing repository. Why would a user want to put the staging into pacman.conf?  I found some discussion from 2011 but not sure if it is still current info.

The linked discussion is still correct. Staging is not for use on a running system.

Thank you. Maybe I should update the wiki page.

A major rebuild operation is taking place right now https://lists.archlinux.org/pipermail/a … 27576.html so definitely don't use [staging].
