Modifying boot iso

Is there a way to modify the usb boot iso so that it turns off nueveo drivers.  I got my motherboard to boot in uefi mode (even gives me bios screen/ selection of booting arch 64 uefi) but then the screen turns black.  I suspect this is the gtx980 nvieia video card?

There is no first screen to hit tab to modify the kernel.  It just goes right into a black screen

Thanks in advance

Re: Modifying boot iso

Maybe plug in your screen into the port on the motherboard, not the graphics card? Then it would use the integrated graphics instead of your GTX 980?

Re: Modifying boot iso

I got this install to my GTX-660Ti

nomodeset nouveau.modeset = 0

at the boot splash, press Tab to enter at the end.

Re: Modifying boot iso

The problem is that it boots to a black screen, there is no menu to hit tab at, just a black screen after post.

The answer for me was to install nvidia with wget (pacman -S nvidia had a whole new set of problems) and install it right after I installed the boot loader.  Problems with the M.2 drive and problems with the nvidia 980 + 4k tv almost made me go back to windows lol.
