after the recent sleeve of updates (Plasma, GCC, ..) there's no "edit tags" / "organize files" entries in the right-click-over-song menu.
Here's my mpd.conf
music_directory "/home/alex/Musica/"
playlist_directory "/home/alex/.local/share/cantata/mpd/playlists"
sticker_file "/home/alex/.local/share/cantata/mpd/sticker.sql"
bind_to_address "/home/alex/.local/share/cantata/mpd/socket"
db_file "/home/alex/.cache/cantata/mpd/tag_cache"
pid_file "/home/alex/.cache/cantata/mpd/pid"
state_file "/home/alex/.cache/cantata/mpd/state"
log_file "/dev/null"
metadata_to_use "artist,album,title,track,name,genre,date,disc,albumartist"
audio_output {
type "alsa"
name "Output"
device "hw:2,0"
}
filesystem_charset "UTF-8"
id3v1_encoding "UTF-8"
auto_update "yes"erased database, re-scanned library, cantata shows no error from terminal..
any idea?

i think it could be related to taglib or taglib-extras..
anyway there's no debug error in the output file..
and it's not that organizing or editing is not working, it simply isn't displayed into the right-click menu.. weird.

Sounds to me like something you should report upstream.
If it's not there at all they probably removed it for some reason, perhaps they need more time to get it working with the new GCC?

camtata, tagli-extras, taglib are already ported to new GCC api..
meanwhile i disinstalled wiped old cache and config and reinstalled.. problem persists.

If you were wondering where your post went, you hit "Report" not "Reply". It happens ![]()

ok.. I've found out that also Devices section is missing in this new build of cantata. No CDs, USB sticks, audio players, etc..
So is this a compiling bug?

Had the same issue, upgraded to cantata-1.5.2-4 and all is back.

What does this have to do with my post?
Also, what do you mean exactly? You fixed the issue, upgraded to 1.5.2-4 and it reappeared?
Or you had the issue in an older version and upgrading to 1.5.2-4 fixed it?
In the last case, there was probably a bug which has been fixed now.

I had the same issue as OP: "Edit information" and "Organize" disappeared; in fact I stumbled upon this thread trying to find solution. You asked OP for solution I assumed you have the same exact issue, assuming you posted in the correct thread.
Since OP decided not to share the solution, but mentioned Cantata maintainer, I thought that there could be a new package release with the fix, and indeed there is and it fixes issue!
Without any other solution mentioned in the thread I thought that the way I was able to resolve this issue would be helpful to you.
I hope I relayed happenings informatively enough.
