Sure it's possible. Tell us what problem you're having.

Re: install on flashdisk/pendrive

Sure is. I am running my Arch from usb drive. I have installed my arch on a Sandisk extreme 8sb 3.0. 64 gb. I have runned it for months without issue.

Are you using https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/In … _a_USB_key or some other guide?

Re: install on flashdisk/pendrive

Apparently this doesn't have anything to do with USB/flashdisk/pendrive. It's just grub-install is not working for him.

grub-install failed, all instalation prior to grub-install are fine, the message said about block device kind of unsupported

Re: install on flashdisk/pendrive

We can't really help if you can only give an ambiguous snippet of the error, but, my guess is you are were running something like `grub-install /dev/sdXY` instead of `grub-install /dev/sdX`.

P.S. And yeah, you didn't give the full grub-install command you ran either.
