[SOLVED] Not enough room in thread title to add "[SOLVED]" tag

I advised the OP of the following thread, where the issue has been resolved:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=206562

to add [SOLVED] to the beginning of the title as per forum policy.  However, there is not enough room in the title to add the tag.  How should one proceed in such circumstances?

There is a character limit. In almost all cases (like the one you refer to), extraneous or redundant material can be culled from the existing title to allow for the [Solved] to be prepended.

That was my guess, but I would rather ask than advise someone incorrectly.

I'm happy to advise incorrectly: I have been doing it for years!

I am too, but I'd rather give you and the other mods headaches from reporting possible etiquette violations than telling people the wrong way to do things on the forum.
