[SOLVED] Audio devices disappaeared

Last night audio was working fine. Shut down computer for the night. Booted this morning and no audio devices are showing up.

I have three total audio hardware devices physically in the machine. One is the HDMI output of my video card. One is the onboard audio. The third (which I want to use) is a Sound Blaster Audigy 2.

Output of lspci:

Output of aplay -IL

Discard all samples (playback) or generate zero samples (capture)
pulse
    PulseAudio Sound Server

Default ALSA Output (currently PulseAudio Sound Server)

    HDA NVidia, HDMI 1
    HDMI Audio Output
hdmi:CARD=NVidia,DEV=2

The two hardware audio controllers simply don't exist.

Again, this was all working fine last night. No updates installed since they were working. I just rebooted and they were gone. Since they don't even show up in the hardware searches, I don't even know what to begin doing to troubleshoot. Alsa shows no issues, there is just "no" hardware for it to connect with.

Any thoughts?

64 bit installation, if that makes any difference.

EDIT:
Several reboots later, it works. I made no system configuration changes although I did re-seat my audio card in the motherboard slot a few times. So it may have been a random hardware issue.
