libmtp (required for zen microphoto and co)[solved]

Hi there
I am having a weird problem making a package for libmtp.
http://libmtp.sourceforge.net/
I unpack the package and then run

./configure

it comes up with

checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for gcc... gcc32
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables

It stops at this point.
But, if i unpack the files in lets say terminal1, then open another terminal (terminal2) and run configure from terminal2, it works. I have got it to compile and believe it works (buying zen microphoto today but wanted to know if i could compile it first => hav'nt tested it yet). This problem makes me not be able to make a package for it, as the uncompressing and the ./configure is in the same terminal. Any way arround this problem? Any ideas?
Cheers

Re: libmtp (required for zen microphoto and co)[solved]

Well
I have got the zen micro photo today and my build works:D. I can list files and copy (other options not tested yet) to the player. Would anyone have an idea on how to make makepkg open a seperate terminal to ./configure and make, make install? Any other ideas would be nice too.
Cheers
