gpg2 cannot locate running gpg-agent and several other problems

When I attempt to decrypt my password file using
gpg -d password.gpg | less I get:

gpg: AES256 encrypted data
gpg: problem with the agent: No pinentry
gpg: encrypted with 1 passphrase
gpg: decryption failed: No secret key

Now ps aux reveals that gpg-agent is running:
leroy      550  0.0  0.0 165292   872 ?        Ss   07:09   0:00 gpg-agent --homedir /home/leroy/.gnupg --use-standard-socket --daemo

Also my clock is an hour off :-(

Also as a preacher I depend upon using xiphos which now fails to start.  When run from a terminal I get:

7fe95ce3f000-7fe95ce40000 r--p 00003000 08:06 1727660                    /usr/lib/libwayland-cursor.so.0.0.0
7fe95ce40000-7fe95ce44000 rw-p 00004000 08:06 1727660                    /usr/lib/libwayland-cursor.so.0.0.0
7fe95ce44000-7fe95ce81000 r-xp 00000000 08:06 1707500                    /usr/lib/libxkbcommon.so.0.0.0
7fe95ce81000-7fe95d081000 ---p 0003d000 08:06 1707500                    /usr/lib/libxkbcommon.so.0.0.0Aborted (core dumped)

I think that both of these problems are related for dmesg now reports:
[    9.378200] [drm:intel_opregion_init [i915]] *ERROR* No ACPI video bus found

Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)

Re: gpg2 cannot locate running gpg-agent and several other problems

Welcome Reverend.

Generally, we ask that you start a thread for each issue; in this way they can be a resource for others attempting to find solutions to a specific issue.  Except for the clock, I think you have a more generic problem.
I assume that gpg and xiphos have worked in the past and that this is all new, unwanted behavior.

So, let's start with some generic things:

Does the kernel you are running match the one that is installed?  Compare the version numbers reported by uname -a and by pacman -Qi linux   (Assuming you are using the mainline kernel)
Is your system fully up to date? Conversely,. did you do a partial update?  Do a pacman -Syu now.
Are your processor microcode updates installed and properly configured?   https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Microcode

As to the clock, what is the output of timedatectl and in which part of the world do you reside (timezone)?

Edit:  I note that xiphos  is from the AUR.  Have you rebuilt that since the recent library changes?
