My laptop is configured to 1366x768 and external LCD to 1280x1024 (I've configured them from XFCE display settings manager). When I'm under X all is ok but when I'm switching to one of the 6 tty's (or booting without logging in X) I get incorrect framebuffer dimensions 1280x768 on my external LCD. Seems like fb resolution composed of two minimal dimensions on both screens.
Some search gave me this article, but playing with kernel command-line options didn't result in anything good.

versionI've already tried all combinations of adapter name in video= parameter (VGA, VGA-1, VGA1, card0-VGA-1, card0-VGA1) - but with no luck. Problem in related thread didn't solved.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think that's perfectly normal? Just like it doesn't make sense at all if you say you want to do "mirroring" with different resolutions on differenet monitors.

My external monitor is a primary one. I keep LVDS output completely disabled when using external VGA screen. Screen resolution in XFCE DE is fine but sometimes I need to use fb and watching long outputs or listings is a bit annoying with trimmed screen...
