Source Engine games not detecting full button set of Logitech M705

I didn't know if I should put this in Hardware support or here, so please feel free to move.

I recently bought a Logitech M705 mouse. It has 5 additional buttons (Tilt wheel left/right, and three thumb buttons) However, the tilt wheel left and two of the thumb buttons show up as "MOUSE4" in Source games (I tried it with TF2) and the remaining two buttons show up as "MOUSE5". Is there any way to "separate" them?

The buttons have different functionality in Chrome (Back/Next page and horizontal scroll) and Minecraft also detects them as seperate buttons, so it is definitely not a driver issue.

Re: Source Engine games not detecting full button set of Logitech M705

So apparently the Source Engine only supports 5 mouse buttons. I need to find a workaround. A possible idea would be a virtual joystick device that can be controlled using commands or directly using mouse button. I haven't found one yet. Is there any way to accomplish this?

I have tried using xbindkeys, the key I chose shows up in chat window if I press it, however it doesn't control anything in game. Does anyone know why?
