I used to have an X config that only used my 960m before the recent driver+xorg update but that seemed to break it and I can't get it to work. In the mean time I installed bumblebee and optirun works fine but I can't get primus to work. Using it with glxgears and dota it just gives segfaults. I tried vblank_mode=0 as well but that didn't do anything.

I have the very same problem that I have no idea how to fix - you don't even need to try running dota2 to see the problem. For sake of simplicity I'm just using glxspheres64 as it gives you stats.
optirun glxspheres64 works fine.
optirun -b primus glxspheres64 silently quits:
