Dear All,
I have just installed Steam and wanted to try Steam Controller. The controller seems to work, but in Big Picture mode the menu selection constantly keep going left like I would constantly pressing the analog stick to the left. This occurs as soon as I touch the controller. I have tried Big Picture mode with the Controller turned off and tried to using keyboard only. Same result. The regular mouse pointer is useless also, because it is just 'flickering'.
Based on this I think this behavior might not related to the controller.
Do you have any idea what would be the problem?
If it is important, I'm using Cinnamon desktop with LightDM.
Thank you!

I've run into the same issue but haven't yet figured out the cause.
For me, even with the Steam Controller turned off, in Big Picture I can use the keyboard up, right, and down arrows just fine. As soon as I hit the left arrow, the selection continually moves left.

Hi Rogerius,
I seem to have solved the issue on my end. I noticed in the console when running Big Picture that it considered my keyboard (Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600) as a joystick. A bit more searching led me to a thread on the Steam forum that referenced this ticket:
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam- … ssues/3384
That ticket references a project with a blacklist of devices: https://github.com/denilsonsa/udev-joystick-blacklist
I saw that my keyboard was on the list, and after installing the udev rule the issue with Big Picture is gone.

Hi fynzh!
I have tried the first udev rule which changes permissions and it works!
Yeeeee!
I had to do a restart though.
Thank you!
