Qt breaks compilation, requiring -fPIC flag

I'm having trouble compiling ipe from AUR.  It seems to be a known bug that also affects several other packages (gnuplot, bitcoin etc.)  See https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/45283

How do I go about adding this flag? Is there a better way to go about this?

Re: Qt breaks compilation, requiring -fPIC flag

In case anyone runs into this:  This is fixed in ipe version 7.2.1.
A separate suggestion is to simply add -fPIC to CPPFLAGS for IpePresenter, which I hadn't tested.

not sure how to mark the thread as solved.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan
