I'm yakuake addicted and after last update to kdebase-runtime-15.12.0-3 the global shortcut (F12) stopped working! I've tried to setup global shortcut again but it's not possible now. I've reverted
to kdebase-runtime-15.12.0.1 now and yakuake works. Is there any significant change in the kdebase-runtime that affects global keys?

An alternative solution is to set the global shortcut F12 directly in the DE/WM to toggle Yakuake using the following command (or see the wiki):
$ dbus-send --type=method_call --dest=org.kde.yakuake /yakuake/window org.kde.yakuake.toggleWindowStateFor i3 configuration, see: http://i3wm.org/docs/userguide.html#keybindings
