Whenever I have a document in LibreOffice Writer with Swedish characters as å, ä and ö. Those charactrers wont render when exporting as PDF.
I have LibreOffice 5.0.2.2 00m0(Build:2) with local/libreoffice-fresh-sv installed.
Any idea what to do to fix this?

Is it Libreoffice, that is unable to export those characters, or is it your pdf viewer, that is unable to display the PDF properly? Please verify.

Can you upload a sample PDF: https://ptpb.pw/f

My PDF-reader is fine. I can open documents rendered with pdflatex and even pdf-documents exported from LibreOffice at my mom's computer (which runs Ubuntu Mate 15.04 with Swedish system language).
Here is a sample output from my computer: https://ptpb.pw/3zrA.pdf

Could it be some kind of font problem, since it seems to render blank space instead of the characters?

It's been quite a while that LibreOffice doesn't work well with gsfonts: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/sho … i?id=95221
I can reproduce your problem. Libreoffice sucks at exporting PDF anyway.
You can get tex-gyre-fonts and use TeXGyreTermes as the alternative of Nimbus Roman, or use another office suite/word processor to export PDF.

Right, thank you. I'll use TexGyre Termes for the time being. For a font noob like me it looks identical to whatever I used earlier, and I never use LibreOffice any way. It's only once in a while when I try to help a fellow idiot by exporting their .odt as PDF before they try to send them to other people. Guess my help will be more appreciated now when I make a nice PDF for them instead of garbling their document.
